Mydriatic and Cycloplegic
Atropine sulfate is a long acting mydriatic and cycloplegic drug. Atropine blocks the action of acetylcholine resulting in relaxation of the cholinergically innervated sphincter muscle of the iris and the accommodative ciliary muscle of the lens. Atropine produces dilation of the pupil (mydriasis) and paralysis of accommodation (cycloplegia).
Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate Ophthalmic-Otic Solution 0.1%, USP
Corticosteroid
Dexamethasone is a fluorinated synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity. Corticosteroids inhibit edema, fibrin deposition, capillary dilatation, and migration of leukocytes and phagocytes in the acute inflammatory response. They also reduce capillary proliferation, fibroblast proliferation, deposition of collagen, and scar formation. Following instillation into the eye Dexamethasone is absorbed into the aqueous humor, and systemic absorption occurs.
Diclofenac Sodium Ophthalmic Solution 0.1%
Anti-inflammatory – Analgesic
Diclofenac Sodium Ophthalmic Solution is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), used to treat eye inflammation after cataract surgery and eye inflammation after a nonpenetrating eye injury. Diclofenac eye drops reduce pain and inflammation by reducing the production of certain substances called prostaglandins.
Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution 0.5%
Lowers the pressure in the eye for conditions such as glucoma or ocular hypertension
Timolol maleate is a general beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent that does not have significant intrinsic sympathomimetic, direct myocardial depressant or local anesthetic
(membrane-stabilizing) activity.
